Membership Renewal

$35.00 per year

Membership Expires 31 August each year.

National Headquarters no longer sends out annual renewal notices.  They leave it up to each individual detachment to handle renewals. 

You may receive an email, phone call or text message from Detachment 1198 politely requesting you renew your membership.

We recommend that you renew early.  Our Detachment Paymaster needs time to process your renewal.  Once is is processed at Det 1998, it is sent to the Dept of Maryland Paymaster. The Dept of Maryland Paymaster processes and sends to National Headquarters for processing.

You will recieve a membership card issued to you when you join the Marine Corps League (MCL). 

The new cards are a plastic card similar to a credit card.  

National Headquarters does NOT send new annaul membership cards.  

They do not list an experation date. 

Lost Membership Card:  You can request a replacement card at the Natiional HQ website.

Our Detachment is always working to get better and provide its membership with a great experience as a Marine Corps League member or associate. 

Let us know why you don't want to renew?  We understand your life changes like the birth of a child or grandchild, college, retirement outside of Maryland, new job, illness, etc.  Those events may not allow you to volunteer at the same level you once did. 

Some members feel the Detachment does not participate in events they like. Just tell us what your into. We are open to new ideas and new events.  

Regular Members and Associate Members are all qualified for Life Membership.  
 

Life Rates 

$100.00 - 85 years and over

$400.00 - 65 years to 84 years

$600.00 - 51 years to 64 years

$800.00 - 36 years to 50 years

$1000.00 - 35 years and under                                             
 

You must be a member IN GOOD STANDING before you can pay your Life Membership Fee.

You MUST pay your Life Fee BEFORE your annual dues expire on 31 August. 

Pay your life fee early to avoid any issues., we recommend by June. 

NOTE:  Our Detachment Paymaster needs time to process your paperwork and submit to the Department of Maryland Paymaster.  National Headquarters needs time to process your paperwork prior to 31 August.
